Enlighten Evolution Whitening (Combination)

Deep Bleaching works by increasing the tooth's permeability to oxygen which breaks down stain molecules. It is a combination treatment meaning that there is a 2 week home treatment followed by a 1 hour visit at the dentist.

Teeth are stained by the foods and drinks we consume. Smoking further stains teeth and the natural bright, white shade becomes darkened. Teeth whitening is a successful and simple method of lightening the colour of your teeth. The degree of whiteness achieved will vary from patient to patient and with the type of bleaching process chosen.

Home Whitening

A custom made mouth tray is created. A whitening gel is placed in the tray which you then wear whilst asleep or for short periods during the day.

Results are normally seen over 2 weeks.

Cosmetic Fillings

The photos below demonstrate what can be achieved with the new resin bonded ceramic filling materials. These are the same materials which are used in back teeth, so they are very strong.

As you can see they can also be made to look very natural.

This type of restoration can be completed in one visit and involves much less work than a crown or veneer. It is consequently cheaper, but wont last as long as a crown or veneer. The average lifespan of these fillings is about 5 to 10 years.

The latest generation of white filling materials should last at least as long as silver amalgam (about 5 to 10 years).

They look much better and eliminate any danger of mercury poisoning.

Veneers

Veneers are facings made from porcelain, which are bonded very strongly to the front of the teeth to mask discolouration. They are translucent, which gives them a very natural appearance, but makes them unsuitable for very badly discloloured teeth which are better treated with crowns.

The two teeth to the right of the centre line have been veneered. This is a relatively new technique, but we expect veneers to last about as long as crowns (20 years or more)
